Inability to view student responses in SCORM objects

Do you use SCORM objects in your Canvas courses? If so, you may have noticed that when using SCORM for assessments, your students’ grades are recorded, but their specific responses are not. For example, if your students complete a multiple-choice quiz in a SCORM object in Canvas, their score will be recorded in the Canvas Gradebook, but you won’t have access to a record of correct and incorrect responses.

Canvas has advised that both the SCORM player and Canvas would need to be updated for this issue to be resolved. If you’d like to see this functionality added to Canvas, you can vote for it in the Canvas Commons.

If you’re not currently using SCORM to build assessments in your course, you will not be affected by this issue.

What is SCORM?

SCORM, which stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model, is a technical standard for e-learning content. Learning objects developed in SCORM can be run on any learning platform that’s SCORM compliant.
