Canvas’s new Quiz tool, Quizzes.Next, is now available in beta at UBC. Quizzes.Next (beta)—also known as Quizzes LTI and Quizzes 2—can be used alongside the current Quiz tool in any Canvas course.
Note: Quizzes.Next is still under development
UBC has activated Quizzes.Next (beta) to give instructors and staff the opportunity to experiment with this new tool and try out new functionalities. However, some features that are available in the current Quiz tool are not yet ready in beta. For example, quizzes created in Quizzes.Next (beta) can’t be added to other courses via course import, course export, course copy, or blueprint courses. And since this tool is still under development and not yet ready for official release, unexpected issues may arise during use.

Accessing Quizzes.Next (beta)
If you’d like to try Canvas’s latest Quiz tool for yourself, it can be accessed from the Assignments page. Please visit the Canvas website for step-by-step instructions on how to create an assessment with Quizzes.Next (beta).
Share your feedback with Canvas
Quizzes.Next is still under development, and Canvas has invited users to submit suggestions for feature ideas. If you would like to share your feedback or suggestions with Canvas regarding the new tool,
- Visit the Canvas Studio page.
- Search for related ideas.
- If you find a similar idea, vote for it! If not, select “Share New Idea” on the right-hand side of the page.
- Submit your suggestion with the tag Quizzes.Next
